ADR transport

The acronym ADR (from the French acronym "Accord relatif au transport international des marchandises Dangereuses par Route") denotes the transport of dangerous goods, materials that are considered harmful to the health of people, animals and the general environment. These are therefore transports that require great caution and must comply with very precise and specific rules and regulations, depending on the type of goods transported and the means of transport used.

ADR transports are regulated by an agreement to which all European Community countries (and some non-European countries as well) adhere, which contains details on classification, packaging, markings and securing the load of dangerous goods on the means of transport.

Given the special nature of this category of transport and the risks involved, it is essential for companiesindividualizea highly competent partner who is informed and constantly updated on the safety requirements and stringent procedures that the ADR transport operation requires.

Our goal

Over the years, the transport of goods classified as dangerous has become increasingly important, such that drivers of vehicles intended for their transport and operators involved in such operations are required to be more professional and responsible, in order to reduce the risk of accidents that may occur during the loading, transport and unloading of products. The objective of the ADR is to provide companies with all the necessary information for setting up a transport under ADR, specific to the type of dangerous goods handled and the hazard classes of the goods according to the ADR Agreement.

What does ADR transport mean?

ADR is the European agreement governing the transport of dangerous goods. This agreement contains the regulatory provisions for the road transport of dangerous goods regarding packaging, securing of cargo and marking.

Who should have ADR?

By December 31, 2022, all companies shipping goods or waste subject to ADR will have to appoint an ADR advisor. The requirement is currently extended to companies that ship occasional or minimal quantities of goods and/or hazardous waste for transportation purposes.

How to tell if a waste is ADR?

Thus, a waste is subject to ADR if it is capable of causing damage to health, property and the environment as a result of an accident and thus through a single, short-lived action. For example, a flammable waste (HP3) is definitely subject to ADR.
